Zoroastrianism is the only religion I know of that absolutely believes in the equality of the light and dark deities although some Christian denominations espouse something pretty darn close to that. It's nice to know there are Christians who don't. Out of curiosity, what is your view on Satan? It's nice to know that my thoughts aren't all that far out in left field - I'm starting to get the idea that there are more of us Jewitches out there than I had any idea. In taking the road less traveled it's nice to know there are other wayfarers :) and to be able to bounce ideas off each other.

ITA that any religion has elements of paganism in it - you can take a person out of nature but you can't take nature out of people. No matter how the pagan trads dress it up they still are speaking to the fundamental natural part of the human psyche and spiritual people feel the need to address that. Perhaps this is why the religions that tried to be not nature based persecuted the things that spoke to that part of people's spirits but if the religion isn't to die the people will sneak the 'pagan' elements back in.Gavrielahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02176125307065271104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3717238413292623143.post-43713286025190444042009-03-04T07:24:00.000-05:002009-03-04T07:24:00.000-05:00I am glad you wrote this. I too have been in search of 'truer' Judaism.

I have also run into this thought that satan was somehow a shared entity in both Judaism & Christianity, and strangely enough, once on a Atheism forum I happened upon. I explained to them that this deifying of satan does not exist in Judaism. No devil, just us.
It is surprising to discover how much people do not know about Judaism and how much they lump it with Christianity. I have several Pagan friends who were surprised when I spoke to them of the Divine Feminine in Judaism. There are a lot of misunderstandings out there.

Funny, you can't cay Judeo-Christianity, but you could say Judeo-Pagan, or even Christian-Pagan. I mean truth be told, paganism is a thread that runs through all of us, no?

It is very nice meeting you here on your blog Gavrielah, seems we may have a some in common.
Shalom!Lunahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04601263279600249777noreply@blogger.com
